Computer Use Rules

Picture

- In computer lessons students are expected to stay on task and work to their  best ability, as they would in any lesson

- Respectful, Responsible Learner expectations equally apply in a computer
 lesson

- Treat school computers with respect – they are a whole school

   resource

- Abide by the school’s Acceptable Use Policy

- Only visit sites that the teacher has directed you to use and that are
 appropriate for school use

- Always remain seated unless directed to move by your teacher

- Students must work QUIETLY and have consideration for other library users

- If you require help do not call out. Raise your hand and wait patiently - the  teacher can only assist one student at  a time (If you have written instructions, read them twice before seeking help)

- Keep hands to yourself - you must NEVER interfere with another student’s computer

- Do not twist or turn the monitor – it should face straight on

- Stay on the task your teacher has set. Do not go to unrelated websites or play games without the teacher's express permission

- Occasionally the teacher may allow you to play games ONLY after all set tasks are completed. You must first raise your hand to show the teacher your completed work. Once the teacher is satisfied that you have completed your work she will then allow you to play

school-appropriate games.

- When leaving: log off, turn off monitor, place keyboard on top of hard drive, push in your chair

- Report any computer issues or vandalism to the teacher
